Asplenium anisophyllum Kunze

An erect  rhizome carries tuffed fronds. This species has pinnate, not proliferous fronds. The lamina (800-300mm) has 10-20 pairs of pinnae, with the terminal pinnae at the apex of the frond resembling the middle pinnae.The pinnae are asymmetric at the base and have serrate margins.  The sori are linear with an entire indusium.
Ecology: Terrestrial, low-level epiphyte or lithophyte growing in shaded areas in evergreen forest,  200-1850m
Derivation of the specific name: Aniso-: unequal; -phyllum:  leaf (pinnae): the pinnae basis of this species is assymmetric
Distribution in southern Africa: Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Swaziland
