Amauroderma argenteofulvum
(Van der Byl)
Doidge

Photos: Bart Wursten, Bomponi, Burma Valley.
A fairly long-stemmed, terrestrial species, common in Miombo
woodland. The hard, flat, circular cap is brown with concentric blackish
lines. The underside is greyish with minute, inconspicuous pores. The species
bleeds red when damaged.
See
A. longisporum for comparison,
which is much lighter in colour, has a more irregular shaped cap, is thinner and
more flexible, and has wider, clearly visible pores.
